InSysX LLC was founded by the Company's Principal, Matt Lawes PhD MBA in September, 2009. His expertise is in the translation of 'hard' parameters - complex technical products and concepts - into readily understood and absorbed 'soft' parameters such as value propositions and customer presentations with 'just the right amount' of technology. He is also a true strategist and systems thinker. The combination of these skill sets permits him to design or audit go-to-market strategies and marketing plans with integration backwards into corporate strategy and forwards into commercial operations.
Most recently as Director of Marketing at Affymetrix, Matt headed up a fully integrated Marketing team of six which managed the USB and Anatrace brands and their associated product portfolios worth a combined $34 million annually. This was an excellent opportunity to work closely with the R&D and Operations teams for these brands, which were also located in Ohio. In a relative short tenure of just under two years top line revenue was grown about 10% annually and gross margins were improved by 16% in the face of very limited/declining marketing budgets. Previously he held leadership roles (National Sales Manager & Director, Market Development) at Biotrove prior to its acquisition by Life Technologies and began his biotech business career as a Technology Specialist at Invitrogen.
